Une grande question qui oppose encore aujourd\u2019hui bon nombre d\u2019intervenants en franchise et en entrepreneuriat est : \u00ab\u00a0Un franchis\u00e9 est-il oui ou non un entrepreneur ?\u00a0\u00bb<\/b> Les r\u00e9ponses sont partag\u00e9es au sein de la communaut\u00e9 entrepreneuriale. Et vous, qu\u2019en pensez-vous?<\/div>\n

D\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9, certains entrepreneurs qui ont commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de rien ont parfois le discours selon lequel les franchis\u00e9s seraient des gestionnaires et non des entrepreneurs. Certes, il n\u2019y a \u00e9videmment aucun mal \u00e0 \u00eatre un gestionnaire. Quant au fait d\u2019\u00eatre ou non un entrepreneur, bon nombres d\u2019explications peuvent nous aider \u00e0 comprendre pourquoi il y a des opinions diff\u00e9rentes et ce, m\u00eame aupr\u00e8s des franchiseurs, parfois.<\/b><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Cet article donne les points de vue de nos amis canadiens sur l'entreprenariat en Franchise au Canada. En Europe, le d\u00e9bat est clos et l'on consid\u00e8re le franchis\u00e9 comme un entrepreneru \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re…mais moins "ind\u00e9pendantiste" et souvent plus attir\u00e9 par le collectif, ses avantages et son \u00e9tat d'esprit. 1\u2014 Mod\u00e8le relationnel franchiseur-franchis\u00e9<\/h3>\n

Ce qu\u2019il faut se rappeler est qu\u2019il n\u2019y a pas si longtemps, les franchis\u00e9s \u00e9taient parfois consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme des \u00ab g\u00e9rants de succursales \u00bb<\/b> par plusieurs franchiseurs. <\/p>\n

Heureusement, cette fa\u00e7on de penser est de plus en plus rare; le profil des franchis\u00e9s tend donc \u00e9galement \u00e0 changer. En effet, si le franchis\u00e9 est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un g\u00e9rant, son franchiseur a de fortes chances de choisir des franchis\u00e9s qui n\u2019ont pas \u2015 ou peu \u2015 le sens de l\u2019entrepreneuriat, car dans le cas contraire, des conflits en lien avec leurs visions personnelles risqueraient de subvenir. Aujourd\u2019hui, bon nombre de r\u00e9seaux de franchis\u00e9s ont des mod\u00e8les d\u2019affaires ou en sont \u00e0 un stade de maturit\u00e9 qui requiert une certaine dose d\u2019entrepreneuriat de la part des franchis\u00e9s. <\/p>\n

Dans les faits, plus le franchiseur \u00e9tablit une relation de partenariat avec ses franchis\u00e9s et plus le degr\u00e9 d\u2019entrepreneuriat de ces derniers pourra \u00eatre \u00e9lev\u00e9<\/b>. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 un certain point me direz-vous puisqu\u2019en effet, un franchis\u00e9 trop entrepreneur risque d\u2019\u00eatre malheureux dans un environnement o\u00f9 l\u2019encadrement est de mise et o\u00f9 la prise d\u2019initiatives requise est moindre.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

2\u2014 Mod\u00e8les d\u2019affaires versus le degr\u00e9 d\u2019entrepreneuriat requis<\/h3>\n

Le degr\u00e9 d\u2019entrepreneuriat que devrait poss\u00e9der un franchis\u00e9 <\/b>varie grandement d\u2019un concept \u00e0 l\u2019autre. En effet, certains concepts d\u2019affaires sont plus routiniers ou la recette m\u00eame du franchiseur implique un haut niveau d\u2019encadrement. Dans ces cas-l\u00e0, il est vrai de dire qu\u2019il vaut mieux une personne avec un profil de gestionnaire plut\u00f4t qu\u2019un entrepreneur pur et dur. La personne tr\u00e8s entrepreneure aura tendance \u00e0 remettre en question les fa\u00e7ons de faire, \u00e0 s\u2019ennuyer dans la routine, \u00e0 d\u00e9tester \u00eatre encadr\u00e9e, etc. <\/p>\n

Il est important, lorsque vous recrutez vos franchis\u00e9s, de vous assurer que leur niveau d\u2019autonomie pour \u00eatre performants et heureux soit coh\u00e9rent avec le niveau d\u2019encadrement que vous offrez aux franchis\u00e9s<\/b>. Autrement, cela risque d\u2019\u00e9clater en conflit un jour ou l\u2019autre. Pour certains franchiseurs, il est tr\u00e8s pertinent d\u2019avoir au sein de leur r\u00e9seau des franchis\u00e9s tr\u00e8s entrepreneurs qui vont contribuer \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper leur franchise, par exemple dans un secteur tr\u00e8s comp\u00e9titif, ou qui supporteront l\u2019\u00e9volution du mod\u00e8le d\u2019affaires dans le cas o\u00f9 le r\u00e9seau est tr\u00e8s jeune. <\/p>\n

Enfin, certains mod\u00e8les d\u2019affaires impliquent une grande capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 performer en contexte d\u2019incertitude. Les entrepreneurs carburent et performent dans de tels contextes. \u00c0 vous de voir le profil entrepreneurial le plus pertinent selon : votre mod\u00e8le d\u2019affaires, votre niveau de maturit\u00e9, votre propre personnalit\u00e9, les investissements requis (prise de risque) etc.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

2\u2014 L\u2019entrepreneur part de rien et prend tous les risques<\/h3>\n

Un des arguments majeurs des\u00a0\u00bbpro-gestionnaires\u00a0\u00bb est le fait que les franchis\u00e9s ont apparemment tout cuit dans le bec,<\/b> partant du fait qu\u2019ils se font donner l\u2019id\u00e9e du mod\u00e8le d\u2019affaires, les fa\u00e7ons de proc\u00e9der, se font guider, etc. tandis que les \u00ab entrepreneurs \u00bb doivent tout faire par eux-m\u00eames \u00e0 partir de z\u00e9ro. En effet, la prise de risque est moindre quand on d\u00e9marre en franchise. C\u2019est m\u00eame l\u2019un des nombreux avantages du mod\u00e8le d\u2019affaires. <\/p>\n

Mais, il reste que d\u00e9marrer une entreprise, qu\u2019elle soit ou non en franchise, comporte son lot de risques et demande au franchis\u00e9 de travailler d\u2019arrache-pied. Si l\u2019on se fie \u00e0 la logique disant que le franchis\u00e9 n\u2019est pas entrepreneur, une personne qui reprend la rel\u00e8ve d\u2019une entreprise existante ne serait-il donc pas un \u00ab vrai \u00bb entrepreneur?<\/b> Bien s\u00fbr que si, il l\u2019est! Les d\u00e9fis sont diff\u00e9rents selon la situation : le franchis\u00e9 est soutenu par un plus grand et solide parachute et il a acc\u00e8s \u00e0 des techniques \u00e9prouv\u00e9es d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part pour l\u2019aider \u00e0 r\u00e9ussir son saut, mais il reste qu\u2019il se lance aussi dans le vide. Le saut, il doit quand m\u00eame le faire \u2026. <\/div>\n

Bref, un certain degr\u00e9 d\u2019entrepreneuriat est requis pour d\u00e9cider de se lancer en affaires. Greg Nathan du Relationship Franchise Institute l\u2019a affirm\u00e9 : 40 % du succ\u00e8s d\u2019une franchise repose sur les \u00e9paules du franchis\u00e9 m\u00eame.<\/b> Il faut donc une certaine capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 prendre des risques et une \u00ab drive \u00bb pour lancer une entreprise. L\u2019important \u00e0 retenir : bien \u00e9valuer la dose d\u2019entrepreneuriat propre \u00e0 votre r\u00e9seau et vous assurer que votre processus de recrutement vous permet d\u2019attirer les bonnes personnes. <\/p>\n
